Contrary to previous iterations of Pokemon games (like Pokemon Sun and Moon), there’s no actual save reset function built in, so restarting Pokemon Sword and Shield from scratch demands you to actually go into your console’s settings. Be warned though, this will completely wipe your copy of Pokemon Sword or Shield so be 100% sure you want to go ahead.   1. Access the Nintendo Switch home menu

    Open the Nintendo Switch home menu

  2. Access the Switch's System Settings

    Open your Nintendo Switch’s System Settings by pressing the cog icon

  3. Head to Data Management

    Go to the Data Management section

  4. Delete Pokemon Sword and Shield save data

    Select Delete Save Data and choose Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield

  5. Choose your account

    Choose the account you want to delete the data on

  6. Delete the Pokemon Sword and Shield save data

    Select Delete Save Data
