The Harry Potter franchise is full of interesting characters. From Moaning Myrtle to Voldemort, the personas of these creations differ so much. Hogwarts Legacy looks to add to this, with a whole new set of people, and maybe some surprise cameos, to keep you enthralled.
As Hogwarts Legacy is set way before what the Harry Potter books depict the world, many have been wondering whether Grindelwald, one of the main characters in the Fantastic Beasts spin-off, is in the game.
Below, we’ll provide all the information we have as to whether the villain Grindelwald is in Hogwarts Legacy so you can either get excited or temper those expectations.
Is Grindelwald in Hogwarts Legacy?
As previously stated, Gellert Grindelwald is a main character in Fantastic Beasts. Now, Fantastic Beasts is set way before the Harry Potter books and films, featuring a younger Dumbledore alongside Newt Scamander, in a different type of adventure in the wizarding world.
Now, Fantastic Beasts is set in the 1920s, where Grindelwald is approximately in his mid-40s. Hogwarts Legacy is set it in the late 1800s, making it a prime moment for Grindelwald to be learning his craft as a dark wizard. He never attended Hogwarts himself, but his relative Bathilda Bagshot did, so there’s a chance a quest could be intertwined with them both.
Not only this, there is a creature featured in the game that is synonymous with Grindelwald – the Inferi. This creature is zombie-like and has been reanimated by a dark wizard’s curse, exactly what he likes doing.
Even though this is the case, at this current moment, there has been no confirmation as to whether we will see Gellert Grindelwald in Hogwarts Legacy, but all signs to point towards a potential cameo, however small it may be.
