This article provides you with an in-depth guide on how to throw items in Tears of the Kingdom so you can use them to their full potential.

How To Throw Items Tears Of The Kingdom

The first step to throwing items is to enter Link’s throwing stance. This can be accomplished by holding the R button on your controller of choice.

Once you’re holding the R button, your character enters the throwing stance, ready to hurl any eligible item from your inventory.

While still holding the R button, press up on your D-pad. This action will bring up a menu showing all the items in your inventory that you’re able to throw.

With the menu open, use your right analog stick to scroll through the various items. Take your time to review each item in your inventory, considering the potential outcomes of throwing each one.

Once you land on the item you wish to toss, you can select it for throwing.

With your item selected and Link in his throwing stance, you can release the R button to throw the item. Link will hurl the item in the direction he’s facing, so ensure you’re pointing him in the right direction before letting the item fly.

In situations where you don’t wish to throw an item but simply drop it at your feet, you can do so through the inventory menu.

Enter the menu, navigate to the item you want to drop, select it, and then confirm your selection. This action will cause Link to drop the selected item directly in front of him.
