Hogwarts Legacy is full of wizardry as you would expect, allowing you to cast a bunch of different spells as you learn them during your time at the legendary school. Now, while most of these spells are of a ‘good’ nature, there are times when you want to let the dark wizard out of the closet.
One way in which you can do this in Hogwarts Legacy is through Unforgivable Curses, something that the school certainly won’t teach you in your studies. Below, we’ll be telling you all about these Hogwarts Legacy Unforgivable Curses so that you know exactly what they are and how to get them in-game for those ‘special’ occasions.
What are the Hogwarts Legacy Unforgivable Curses?
Similar to its source material, there are three Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy. These are Avada Kedavra, Crucio, and Imperio.
Looking first at Avada Kedavra, this is also known as the Killing Curse, a favorite of Voldemort. According to the lore, there is no way of blocking or counter-cursing this spell so once it’s cast on an enemy, they’ll be heading to the grave.
Next up is Crucio. Crucio is also known as the Cruciatus Curse and inflicts serious pain on the unsuspecting victim. This Unforgivable Curse is naturally used to cause so much harm to its recipient that it is used in torture, making them unveil all the truths and secrets the caster desires.
Finally, we’ve got Imperio. Imperio can also be called the Imperius Curse and essentially puts the recipient of the spell into a zombie-like state and under the complete control of the caster. One may resist the curse but you must be a powerful wizard to do so, or learn strategies to counter it.
How to unlock Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy
For how to get the Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll be able to learn these as you progress in the game. Avada Kedavra specifically will be tied to a relationship quest involving Sebastian Sallow but as for the others, we’re still unsure on at this current moment.
However, you will be able to use all of the Hogwarts Legacy Unforgivable Curses if you have access to the Dark Arts Arena. This is part of the Dark Arts Pack, which also contains the Thestral Mount and Dark Arts Cosmetics Set.
When you’re in the Dark Arts Arena, as you would expect, this is all about using dark magic against foes so naturally, Avada Kedavra, Crucio, and Imperio will be the spells of choice here.
When we learn more about how to get the other in the main game, we’ll be sure to update this guide.
