How to get Thorn – Destiny 2

How to get Thorn - Destiny 2

Destiny 2 has a whole host of weapons that are hard to achieve due to various quest steps or are simply just hard to complete. One of these weapons is Thorn. Thorn has been a sought after weapon since the days of the original Destiny due to its Hive aesthetic and interesting exotic perk Mark of Devourer which deals damage to your enemies over time.

When Thorn was announced to be returning in Destiny 2, everyone was scrambling to know how to get it and we’ve got the answers for you. As mentioned earlier, ‘hidden’ exotics come with a bunch of quest steps that you’ll need to complete and Thorn is no different. So without further ado, follow the steps below and you’ll know exactly how to get Thorn in Destiny 2.

How to get Thorn in Destiny 2

Before we get started, you’ll need to have acquired the Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC as well as the Season of the Drifter expansion to have access to the Thorn’s quest. If you do, let’s get started.

Step 1
To start the Thorn quest line visit the Salt Mines and locate the camp. The camp is located by transmatting and following the path along the map’s edge. You’ll reach some debris and a prompt will appear to “sift through the ashes”. Do this and you’ll receive the next step.

Step 2
Once you’ve found the camp head back to the Tower and visit Banshee-44.

Step 3
After visiting Banshee-44 you’ll have to either complete destination bounties on Io, defeat Warlocks in the Crucible, or complete Nightfalls.

Step 4
After completing the requirements of Step 3, you’ll have to do another similar step to progress. This time you have to complete destination bounties on Titan, defeat Titans in the Crucible, or complete runs of the Blind Well activity.

Step 5
Finally, the last in the three similar steps is this. Complete destination bounties on Mars, defeat Hunters in the Crucible, or complete waves of the Escalation Protocol activity.

Step 6
After the trio of similar quest steps have been completed, next on the agenda is to defeat Guardians in the Crucible using Void weapons or Hand Cannons.

Step 7
Now the more lengthy steps have been completed, head over to Tyra Karn at the Farm to receive the eighth and final step.

Step 8
The final step for getting Thorn is to complete an altered version of the Savathun’s Song strike.

There we have it, if you’ve followed all of the above steps, you should now know how to get Thorn in Destiny 2. It is quite a lengthy process and one that some might find a little tedious but for Thorn, it’s definitely worth the time.
